National TB Elimination Programme
Revised National TB Control Program (RNTCP)
AGMSWT has been a key implementation partner for India’s National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP, formerly RNTCP) since 2016, aligning with the National Strategic Plan 2017–2025 to achieve TB elimination by 2025. Our district-specific model integrates public-private partnerships (PPP) under NTEP’s guidance, emphasizing:
- Standards of TB Care in India (STCI) compliance for quality diagnostics, treatment, and patient support.
- Private sector engagement through innovative PPP models (e.g., PPSA, specimen transport networks).
- Universal Health Coverage goals by reducing out-of-pocket expenses for TB patients.
Key Program Components
- Active Case Finding (ACF) - Door-to-door screening in tribal, slum, and migrant-dominated areas.
- Specimen referral networks for transporting sputum samples to accredited labs.
- Universal Drug Susceptibility Testing (UDST) - Mandatory molecular testing (Truenat/CB-NAAT) for all presumptive TB cases.
- Free Drug Access - Provision of Fixed-Dose Combinations (FDCs) via NTEP supply chain & private chemists.
- Drug-Resistant TB (DR-TB) Management - Linkage to District DR-TB Centers for second-line treatment.
