Nischay Yaan

Nischay Yaan is a life-saving referral transport initiative aimed at addressing one of the most critical challenges in maternal and child health—reducing neonatal and maternal mortality rates. Launched in 2016, this free and guaranteed transport service ensures that pregnant women and newborns in rural and underserved regions can reach healthcare facilities on time, without financial or logistical barriers. The initiative is particularly vital in remote and economically disadvantaged communities, where lack of transportation often leads to home deliveries and delays in medical intervention, increasing the risk of complications and fatalities. By removing transportation barriers, Nischay Yaan has become a lifeline for thousands of mothers and newborns, ensuring safe and timely access to institutional healthcare.

Objectives

  • Enhancing Maternal and Neonatal Care: Provide safe and timely transport for pregnant women and newborns to prevent complications.
  • Reaching Vulnerable Populations: Prioritize economically disadvantaged families, Scheduled Castes (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST) who face systemic barriers to healthcare.
  • Ensuring 24/7 Accessibility: Operate round-the-clock transport services, so no woman or newborn is left without help during emergencies.
  • Reducing Home Deliveries: Encourage institutional births by offering free transport, reducing risks associated with unsafe home deliveries.
  • Emergency Readiness: Equip ambulances with medical facilities and trained personnel to ensure safe transit in critical cases.
